Construction Update (8/6/2015)

Expect single and double lane, shoulder and ramp closures for site preparation, sign replacement, new sign installation, and paving preparation. ODOT is partnering with law enforcement for extra presence in the highway construction zone.

1. FULL NB CLOSURE, I-5 between Marquam Bridge and I-84

  • Closure on Friday, August 7

  • Work to occur between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

  • I-5 travelers will be detoured via I-405

  • Eastbound I-84 travelers will take I-5 southbound to I-84 eastbound

  • On-ramp closures to I-5 will begin at 9 p.m. and the mainline will be closed at 10 p.m.

  • The following ramps will be closed starting at 9:00 p.m.:

    • SB I-405 to I-5 NB
    • SW Macadam to I-5 NB
    • SW Broadway to SB I-405 –open with limited access
    • SW 5th Ave to SB I-405
    • SW Montgomery to SB I-405 – open with limited access

2. I-5 NB and SB between N Lombard and SW Corbett

  • Shoulder, ramp and double lane closures
  • Work will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

3. I-5 SB between the SW Marquam Bridge and Capitol Highway

  • Double lane and ramp closures
  • Friday, August 7 to Saturday, August 15
  • Work will occur between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. (8 a.m. on Saturday morning).
  • Expect on- and off-ramp closures throughout the project

4. I-5 NB between Marquam Bridge and 26th overcrossing

  • Periodic ramp and lane closures
  • Ramp to the Marquam Bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Monday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 12. All NB traffic will be diverted to I-405 NB.
  • Work will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

5. I-5 SB on Marquam Bridge

  • Single lane closure
  • Monday, August 11 and Wednesday, August 13
  • Work will occur 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Related Work: Lane Closure on Top deck of Fremont Bridge (I-405)

  • Work will occur throughout the month of August
  • Sunday through Thursday nights, with occasional Friday night work
  • Work to occur between 9 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
  • No work will be carried out the night of Sunday Aug. 9 because of the Providence Bridge Pedal.
